Customizing Centre is a unique autobody services and coachbuilding operation which has been serving OEMs, Metros and corporate customers for the past 23 years

Situated in Prospecton, Durban, it occupies 4000m2 of modern factory, employing production line processes and about 37 staff.

It’s principal, George Galbraith, has a 21-year service pedigree with manufacturers and distributors, as well as RMI and it’s Associations.

In keeping with its commitment to world class manufacturing standards, Customizing Centre is the only ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 accredited autobody services operation in South Africa

Customizing Centre has adopted broad-based BEE principles and is progressing it’s programme in terms of ownership, staff development and training, procurement and management

Customizing Centre is an approved supplier to Toyota South Africa, MAN Truck & Bus SA, Nissan South Africa and Volvo Truck Industries and has supplied steel canopies to Botswana’s Central Transport Organisation on a large scale

Customizing Centre has been involved with the coachbuilding of steel canopies for SAPS for the past 22 years and produce an average of 10 per day through its modern production line environment

Core Competencies

• The assembly, processing and coachbuilding of heavy duty, galvanised steel and aluminium canopies for State, Police and Metro applications in volume.
• The design, manufacture and supply of specialised niche canopies for light commercial vehicles, including Recvee
• Specialised spraypainting for OEMs and fleets including customised designs. This includes such diverse substrates and assemblies as chassis, cabs, loadbodies, plastics and vehicles of any nature
• Specialist coatings - involving the application of various protective, anti-abrasion and anti-corrosion coatings aimed at customised solutions for vehicles of all types in harsh operating terrain and environments. For example, Sharks Board vehicles for beach and salt water operation, Botash vehicles operating in high saline, wet and chemically corrosive conditions and mine operations including gravel and sand roads
• Supply and fit of Venture Shield paint protection film for cars and trucks.
• Corrosion protective sealers involving thixotropic wax coatings and cavity sealers
• Supply and coating of P&A components of a body panel nature
• Disassembly and assembly of vehicles and components, in a high quality environment, in support of the various processes
